Trade finance and structured transaction charges are quoted on a case-by-case basis.

Investment Banking Accounts – Investment Premium Account

Purpose: Structured for foreign investment companies, companies receiving investment capital from South African investment entities, beneficiaries of structured investment placements, companies receiving debt finance or private investment funding, joint ventures (JVs), and SPVs for structured investment transactions.

Eligibility:
  • Foreign incorporated investment companies
  • Holding companies for capital participation
  • Companies receiving investment capital or structured finance from an investment entity based in South Africa
  • Joint venture entities
  • Structured finance or project-specific vehicles
Documentation Requirements:
  • Certificate of Incorporation and constitutional documents
  • Board Resolution authorizing account opening
  • Identification documents of shareholders, directors, and ultimate beneficial owners
  • Detailed business profile outlining the investment purpose
  • Investment agreement, funding term sheet, financing agreement, or JV documentation
  • Source of funds and capital declaration
Account Establishment & Initial Capital Requirement:
  • Account Establishment Fee: USD 2,500
  • Initial Capital Placement Requirement: USD 50,000 – USD 100,000
  • Annual Account Maintenance Fee: USD 1,500
  • Enhanced Due Diligence Review: USD 1,000 (if applicable)

Capital must be deposited and cleared prior to activation of full transactional privileges. Threshold within USD 50,000 – USD 100,000 is determined by due diligence and risk assessment.

Investment Transaction Charges:
  • Capital Inflow Processing: 0.25% of transaction value (minimum USD 500)
  • Structured Funding / Debt Finance Processing: Case-based pricing
  • Joint Venture Account Administration: USD 750 annually
  • High-Value International Transfer: USD 150 + correspondent charges
  • Customized Investment Reporting: USD 500 per report (upon request)
General Banking Charges (All Account Categories)
  • Account Balance Confirmation Letter
  • Liability Letter Issuance
  • Courier Charges (International): At cost + handling
  • Compliance Review / Document Certification: (If applicable)
  • Replacement of Bank Documents
